65 yrs post independence India may seem shining but the statistics reveal a different story. More than 40% of the country’s population lives below the poverty line and 10.9 % of Bihar’s population accounts for it. According to the Census 2011, the State has an urban literacy rate of 78.8% while the rural literacy rate stands at 61.8% only.
